Keep it Simple. Use the Best Citrus Juicer

Best Citrus Juicer

Masticating juicers need a ton of preparation before juicing. With a centrifugal juicer however, you can feed whole fruits, large chunks of vegetables and be done with juicing in a short time. When juicing oranges, I prefer the Best Citrus Juicer.

The juicer parts are dishwasher safe and take all the hard work out of cleaning the juicer. Only the mesh needs to clean by hand and that is easily done with the cleaning brush provided.

This makes a centrifugal juicer suitable for almost everyone. As juicing took off in a big way in response to living healthy trends, manufacturers have come up with more and improved juicers using latest technology to help you extract maximum juice with minimal loss of nutrition and wastage of produce.

These machines replace the mechanical devices like citrus press and even our hands which was the traditional method of getting at juice. When people fell sick, or children needed extra nutrition juice was the go-to choose. Does a smoothie taste bland, or need to be sweeter? There are any number of sweetening agents like honey, maple syrup, sugar. But if you want to do it naturally then try grapes, dates or banana, watermelon is another sweetening agent, but it can also dilute the smoothie.

When you want a smoothie to be creamy, including an avocado is ideal for adding creaminess to smoothies. Its mild flavor disguises its nutritional wallop. After removing its skin and pit, you can add a whole avocado to your smoothie, or save some for the next day. If you develop a passion for juicing, then you could trade up and buy higher end twin-gear machine. But in the meantime, it's best to pick between a slow masticating juicer and a fast centrifugal juicer to meet your juicing needs.

Horizontal masticating juicers are a great alternative to triturating juicers as they are less complex to operate and provide great yields and don't compromise on nutrition. The juice quality is high, and juice can be stored in the fridge for 72 hours without loss of taste or nutrition.

The locking-arm of a fast juicer has to be engaged to operate the juicer. This safety mechanism ensures that you don't switch it by mistake when not ready.

A wider feed tube cuts prep time to almost nil. Large quantities of produce can be juiced at the same time due to the bigger pulp bin and juice collector of this model.

Another convenient thing about the centrifugal juicer is that most parts are dishwasher safe like the Best Citrus Juicer

Which Is the Best Cold Press Juicer to Buy?

What is a cold press juicer? What is a fast juicer? What is a masticating juicer? What is a slow juicer?

Confused and clueless? Don't worry. We will answer all these and more in this short primer on juicing. Unless you have been living under a rock, you would know by now that juicing is a health trend that has been going places with advanced juicing machines and technologies to help extract maximum juice from fruits and vegetables. Literally, they convert your fresh produce to liquid form with the skin, pulp and fiber being crushed and squeezed to extract every bit of goodness out of them.

For years now people have been feeding their children and the sick in the family with freshly squeezed juice because of the various health benefits they offer and that too in delicious form. Most juices were hand squeezed or at best put through hand operated mechanical devices. Juices extracted in this fashion while not exposed to heat or turbulence was definitely not efficient. A lot of the juice was still left over in the discarded pulp, skin and fiber. In order to make juicing efficient juicers of different types like cold press masticating slow juicers, centrifugal fast juicer, citrus juicers have been launched in the last few decades.

The last decade has seen a sudden spurt of interest in healthy living. People have taken up to juicing in a big way. Juices deliver a power packed punch in terms of nutrition. They are highly concentrated form of drinking up a rainbow-colored variety of salads.

The juice is rich in multi-vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and enzymes that give your health and immunity a boost. With cold press juicers you are able to get at maximum nutrition as these juicers are able to extra every last drop of juice from the fresh produce. These juicers pulverize, masticate and chew produce and then press them hard to remove juice leaving behind a dry pulp. Almost any liquid that can be extracted is taken out from fresh produce by masticating slow juicers. They rotate a very slow speed and do not transfer heat or air to the juice.

So nutritional loss is minimal. Centrifugal juicers spin at thousands of rotations per minute shredding produce and extracting juice due to the centrifugal force. Large amounts of heat and air are incorporated in the juice due to this high-speed of juicing. While this fast juice generates juice quickly is leads to some loss of nutrition which does not happen in a cold press juicer.

So, which juicer is better? Should you buy a cold press juicer that extracts maximum nutrition or go for the convenience of a fast juicer. What is a better choice in juicers? It depends on you the user. If you are mainly looking for juice that will eventually use in some form of cooking or baking, there is no point in buying expensive slow juicers or cold press juicer. If you are looking for less work, less hassle when juicing and don't mind some loss of nutrition then just buy yourself a fast-centrifugal juicer.

If nutrition is of utmost importance and only reason why you are looking at juicers going for types that offer to retain maximum nutrition like the masticating cold press juicers is the answer. In centrifugal juicers with large feed tubes, it is easy to just drop whole apples and oranges and collect the juice at the other end. But in masticating juicers you do need to chop the fresh produce in smaller chunks to feed through the smaller tubes. The juicing also happens slowly.

The process is slow as the juicer rotates at less than 100 rpm in order to prevent any oxidation or heat generation both of which cause loss of valuable vitamins and enzymes from the extracted juice. Cold press juicers are multi-functional and can be used to make range of other foods like pasta, nut butter, nut milk and baby food. With centrifugal juicers you can only make juice. So, for the extra cost you get more versatility.
